Who we are
Trevor’s Hope is a program of Legacy for the Generations, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Rutherford County, Tennessee. As a nonprofit, we are exempt from Tennessee’s consumer privacy law (the Tennessee Information Protection Act); even so, we are committed to handling your information responsibly and to the standards described below. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to pursue our mission and operate the Site.
Information you give us directly. When you join our email list, we collect your email address (and any name you provide). When you donate, you provide information such as your name, email, billing details, and payment information through our donation processor.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our analytics providers may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring pages, and general location, using cookies and similar technologies.
Information from children. The Site is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. See “Children’s privacy” below.
How we collect it (our service providers)
We use trusted third-party services to run the Site and our programs. These providers process certain information on our behalf, under their own privacy policies:
Email: Email sign-ups are handled by Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.). Your email address is stored and managed in Mailchimp so we can send you updates you’ve requested.
Donations: Donations are processed by Donorbox and its payment processor Stripe. Your payment card or bank information is collected and processed directly by these providers. Trevor’s Hope does not receive or store your full payment card or bank account numbers.
Analytics: We use Google Analytics (Google LLC) and Framer Analytics (Framer B.V.) to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
Hosting: The Site is built and hosted on Framer (Framer B.V.).
We encourage you to review these providers’ privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to: process and acknowledge donations and issue receipts; send updates, stories, and appeals you’ve asked to receive; respond to your messages; understand and improve how the Site performs; maintain the security and integrity of the Site; and comply with legal obligations.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We share information only with the service providers described above so they can perform services for us, and when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with the governance of Legacy for the Generations. Donations are received and receipted by Legacy for the Generations.
Cookies and tracking
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how the Site works. If a cookie consent banner is shown to you, you can manage your preferences there. We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Email choices
Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. You can also email us to be removed from our list. We will honor opt-out requests promptly, consistent with the CAN-SPAM Act.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete it, and to opt out of marketing. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible.
